We never stop learning. We’ve heard those words many times and they apply to all sectors. Training is a fundamental element also in the areas of ski and boot rental and sales in order to give clients top services and products with the use of the most cutting-edge techniques.
At the beginning of October 2019, we therefore eagerly participated in the “Master in Bootfitting and stance alignment” course organised at the K3 KitzKongress di Kitzbühel.
Kitzbühel is a charming Alpine town situated east of Innsbruck, about three and a half hours drive from Canazei. We put the alarm clock at dawn and after a good cup of coffee e took off with the desire to learn new techniques and acquire more competences.
The journey was pleasant from the beginning to the end, especially because we passed through the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Trentino-Alto Adige and Austria. As soon as we arrived at our destination, already during the check-in, we had the possibility to get to know many professional bootfitters from all over Europe, the U.S and Australia. We bonded immediately and exchanged ideas, information and small secrets regarding bootfitting procedures and techniques.
The two-day-course was held by ten instructors, each of them specialised in a specific bootfitting
technique sector. We might as well tell you right away... we were all really eager to get to know the great Mark Elling.
You don’t know Mark Elling? Well, it’s comprehensible if you don’t work in the bootfitting sector. Let’s say that Mark Elling is to bootfitting what Ronaldo is to football, Pavarotti to opera, and Ac/Dc to Hard Rock.
Since 1997 Mark Elling is a professional boot tester for all the best brands on the market.
He writes independent reviews for “America’s Best Bootfitters” and “OnTheSnow.com” and he is the author of the famous book “The All Mountain Skier: The Way to Expert Skiing”.
At this moment he manages and is the promoter of the courses organised by Masterfit University Training Center in the U.S., Europe and Australia. He is a certified pedorthist and has won several awards as Bootfitter at Gravity Sports at Mt. Bachelor and is also a qualified Alpine instructor.
Thanks to him and the other instructors’ certified training, Peak Sport Adventure is now able to offer
its clients the boots that are most suitable and appropriate for their feet. We have indeed learned the newest techniques to analyse and adapt boots to the different types of feet with regard to elasticity,
torsion, rotation, movement and alignment.
In that way the factory-made ski boot becomes a custom-made boot, perfectly shaped and adapted to
the skier’s foot bringing wellbeing and comfort during downhill skiing.
The form-fitting of the boot is technically the most important and complicated factor that allows to achieve
maximum comfort and performance during downhill skiing, both by amateurs and experts.
To obtain this result we intervene at multiple levels:
Too many technical terms? It doesn’t matter. The concept is simple: we update our competences all the time to offer the best possible service and be able to perfectly adapt the ski boots to the shape of your feet, thus guaranteeing a perfect skiing experience on the slopes.
